SAP Cloud ALM
Bring SAP implementation, delivery, and day-to-day operations into a more connected application lifecycle management environment. LeverX helps you set up SAP Cloud ALM, connect supported systems, and adopt the capabilities that fit your SAP landscape.
Take Control of SAP Change With SAP Cloud ALM
As SAP landscapes expand across cloud and on-premises systems, keeping transformation projects moving while maintaining reliable daily operations becomes increasingly difficult. Project updates, operational signals, and service activities may sit in separate tools, leaving teams to piece together what has changed, what needs attention, and who should act next.
SAP Cloud ALM provides a more structured way to manage this complexity. As SAP's strategic cloud-based ALM offering, it helps organizations manage implementation activities, oversee operations across supported cloud and hybrid landscapes, and collaborate with SAP on service delivery. Its dedicated areas for implementation and operations help teams coordinate change without conflating project work with day-to-day monitoring. However, SAP Cloud ALM is not a feature-for-feature replacement for SAP Solution Manager.

How to Transition From SAP Solution Manager to SAP Cloud ALM
SAP recommends completing the transition to SAP Cloud ALM before December 31, 2027, when mainstream maintenance for SAP Solution Manager 7.2 ends. Customers opting for extended maintenance of SAP Business Suite 7 may continue receiving support for selected SAP Solution Manager capabilities through 2030.
For a closer look at maintenance deadlines, potential risks, and available alternatives, explore our guide to SAP Solution Manager 7.2 end of support.
Assess current SAP Solution Manager usage
Run SAP Readiness Check for SAP Cloud ALM to analyze active capabilities, existing dependencies, and potential transition obstacles. Identify which projects, monitoring scenarios, change management workflows, and documentation must be retained.
Map capabilities to the target ALM landscape
Determine which existing processes can move to SAP Cloud ALM and which require alternative solutions. Define a separate approach for Change Request Management (ChaRM), IT service management, and any advanced monitoring requirements that fall outside the target scope.
Prepare the transition environment
Request an SAP Cloud ALM tenant, establish access permissions, and connect the relevant systems. Plan how existing monitoring and change management activities will continue while replacement workflows are introduced and tested.
Transfer supported content and adapt workflows
Use Selective Data Transfer (SDT) for eligible solution documentation, test cases, and Focused Build test steps. Reconfigure monitoring scenarios and establish new change management workflows where direct migration is unavailable.
Validate the transition and retire legacy components
Verify transferred content, test monitoring and alerting, and confirm that critical ALM processes remain operational. Resolve outstanding dependencies before decommissioning SAP Solution Manager or retaining selected components for continued use.

Industries That Benefit From SAP Cloud ALM
Industrial manufacturing
Manufacturers operating multiple plants need to coordinate SAP system changes across production, procurement, and maintenance processes while accounting for dependencies on shop floor applications.
Automotive
Automotive manufacturers and suppliers depend on tightly connected production, logistics, and procurement systems, where poorly coordinated releases can disrupt operations across multiple facilities and partners.
Retail and wholesale
Retailers and distributors manage frequent business changes across sales channels, warehouses, and purchasing systems, making it important to maintain continuity during system updates and seasonal demand peaks.
Transportation and logistics
Logistics providers rely on time-sensitive shipping, warehousing, and settlement processes, where integration failures or delayed background jobs can interrupt order fulfillment and delivery coordination.
Oil and gas
Oil and gas companies operate complex SAP environments spanning asset maintenance, procurement, and financial management, often across geographically distributed facilities with different operational requirements.
Banking & Finance
Financial institutions require controlled changes to SAP-based finance, procurement, and reporting processes, particularly when several applications and teams contribute to regulated operations.
Insurance
Insurers depend on interconnected financial, claims, and administrative systems, making coordinated application changes important for avoiding disruptions to critical business transactions.
Pharmaceuticals and life sciences
Life sciences companies need documented testing and controlled releases when changes affect SAP systems supporting manufacturing, quality management, and other regulated business processes.
LeverX configured SAP Cloud ALM monitoring for a Nordic IT services provider operating a hybrid SAP landscape with SAP S/4HANA Cloud and SAP ERP 6.0 on-premises. The project also involved SAP Solution Manager monitoring, SAP Basis support, system upgrades, and integration improvements.
