Benefits of SAP HANA Database

All-in-one data platform

Database management, analytics, building applications, connecting data sources — SAP HANA does all of this.

High-speed performance

In-memory processing speeds up query execution significantly, including in large-scale production systems.

Support for diverse workloads

The platform handles transactional and analytical processes together and works with different data types.

Optimized data footprint

Columnar storage and compression minimize storage requirements and remove the need for unnecessary data replication across systems.

Parallel processing

Large datasets and complex calculations get processed efficiently through massively parallel processing at the database level.

Growth without redesign

The SAP HANA database scales to accommodate increasing data volumes and user loads in distributed environments.

Deployment flexibility

The system can run on-premise, in private/public clouds, across multiple clouds, or in hybrid landscapes.

Unified data access

Data virtualization and a single data layer provide consistent access to information from multiple sources.

Built-in security mechanisms

Comprehensive authorization controls, encryption, and auditing features help protect data and applications across the landscape.

Database design

  • In-memory, column-based architecture
When running on HANA, transactional processing and reporting access the same dataset. Data is kept in memory and structured by columns, which limits unnecessary data reads during query execution. Tables can be partitioned and spread across servers to balance load and support higher volumes without relying on resource-intensive full-table operations.
  • Transactional consistency (ACID)
The system follows ACID principles across all operations. This means transactions process reliably even when enterprise environments get complicated.
  • Multi-tenant architecture
You do not need a separate HANA system for every database. Several tenants can run within one installation. They share infrastructure, yet their users, schemas, and objects remain separate. In practical terms, consolidation does not mean loss of isolation.
  • Tiered storage and persistence
Active and less frequently used data are handled differently in HANA. This helps balance performance and storage efficiency. Regardless of how data is accessed, logs and committed changes are saved to persistent storage to ensure durability.
  • Horizontal and vertical scalability
The architecture supports large data volumes on a single server and can scale out across clusters using a distributed setup. Tables can be automatically allocated across nodes to balance workload and maintain performance.

Our SAP HANA Delivery Approach

Scope definition and landscape assessment

We start by analyzing your current SAP environment, custom developments, and data volumes. This helps identify what should be migrated, optimized, or decommissioned before moving to SAP HANA.

Deployment strategy design

Based on business and technical requirements, our team defines the most suitable deployment model — on-premise, cloud, or hybrid. The architecture is aligned with performance expectations, compliance needs, and long-term IT strategy.

System sizing and capacity planning

Our experts calculate memory, storage, and hardware requirements to ensure stable performance. This includes planning for active data, growth projections, and persistent storage components.

Data preparation and cleansing

Before migration, we review and streamline data. Removing obsolete or duplicate records reduces system load and supports a more efficient HANA environment.

Migration execution using proven tools

The LeverX team leverages established SAP migration methodologies and tools to minimize risks. The transition is carefully managed to maintain business continuity and data integrity.

Validation and proof of concept

Before go-live, we conduct testing and, where required, a proof of concept to validate performance, integrations, and business processes. Feedback is incorporated before the final rollout.
