Customer Overview

Our customer, an American developer, manufacturer, and supplier of products catering to diverse industries, has a rich history that traces its roots back to its invention in the late 19th century as a company specializing in mill supplies and rubber goods in Detroit. The company later surged ahead with groundbreaking innovations in bearing technology.

With a global presence of over 10,000 employees at over 50 locations worldwide, the customer is now a powerhouse in the automotive, commercial, aerospace, marine, rail, and off-road vehicle sectors, as well as in industrial, agricultural, and power-generation applications.

After being acquired by another prominent market player, our client thrives. They proudly boast a portfolio that includes more than 30 of the most renowned and respected aftermarket brands, solidifying their status as a driving force in multiple sectors across the globe.

Customer’s Business Case

Our customer, a well-established international developer, manufacturer, supplier, and seller of automotive spare parts and accessories for a wide range of vehicles, faced the following challenges that demanded strategic solutions:

  • Decentralized catalogs: The client's product catalogs were distributed across regions, hindering the ability to perform strategic sales analysis efficiently. The lack of centralized data made it challenging to gain insights into sales statistics, customer preferences, and market trends on a global scale.
  • Data synchronization delays: Synchronizing data from disparate sources consumed a significant amount of time and resources. This delay in data synchronization impacted the client's ability to swiftly respond to market changes and execute data-driven strategies.

Project Goals

The primary objective of our engagement with the customer was to ensure the seamless operation of their solution by resolving all technical issues, optimizing performance, and fortifying the platform's reliability. This would help the customer achieve their ultimate goal 一 to facilitate a substantial increase in global sales.

To help achieve these goals, several strategic milestones were identified:

  • Streamline data collection and processing: A critical step involved optimizing existing processes for collecting and processing data related to the company's extensive product portfolio. Of particular significance was the consolidation of all master data within a unified platform, ensuring a centralized and efficient data management system.
  • Enhance data utilization for strategic insights: Another crucial task was to establish a seamless data flow from SAP to Microsoft Azure. This data integration was pivotal in enabling advanced data analysis and utilization of Data Science algorithms to generate up-to-the-minute seasonal forecasts. By harnessing the power of data-driven insights, our customer aimed to make informed decisions that would drive sales growth on a global scale.

How We Achieved Success

As part of this project, we successfully completed several key tasks to address the client's challenges:

Platform creation

In response to the challenges related to data collection and processing optimization, our team developed a comprehensive E-commerce platform with a focus on delivering seamless customer experiences and streamlining sales processes. This platform leveraged industry-leading technologies, specifically Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and SAP Hybris Commerce.

Tailored product catalogs

Our customer previously operated an outdated U.S. market product catalog on a specific system. LeverX experts took charge of migrating the client side of the customer's catalog to Adobe Experience Manager, ensuring a smooth transition while preserving critical data and functionalities.

In addition to this migration effort, we were also tasked with creating new product catalogs for several American brands, which are divisions within our customer's extensive portfolio. This comprehensive approach extended to the transformation of our customer's corporate website, enhancing its digital presence and product showcasing capabilities.

In addition to these improvements, we introduced several new features:

        • A robust shopping cart system
        • Advanced authorization mechanism
        • Tailored product catalogs
        • Demand forecasting
        • Data integration
        • Data visualization
        • Customized storefront.

Moreover, we customized the standard check-out flow, tailoring it to our customer's specific requirements.

Version migration

We ensured platform reliability and security by migrating to the latest versions of AEM.

Business Intelligence (BI)

Our team integrated BI for data analysis, enabling trend analysis, sales forecasting, and informed decision-making.

To deliver the project successfully, our team harnessed a sophisticated technology stack, incorporating key tools and frameworks. The content management aspect was handled seamlessly by Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), while the E-commerce functionalities were powered by SAP Hybris Commerce 6.4. On the frontend, we employed technologies such as Angular.js, Vue.js, Less, and Webpack, ensuring a dynamic and responsive user interface.

For the backend architecture, we chose Java, along with the robust Spring ecosystem (including Spring Core, Spring MVC, and Spring Security), which provided a solid foundation. We utilized FlexibleSearch, Groovy, and Ant to enhance flexibility and efficiency. RESTful APIs were implemented for seamless communication, and Solr played a crucial role in search functionality.

This comprehensive and meticulously chosen technology stack enabled us to build a high-performance, scalable solution that effectively met the project's demands.

Through our innovative approach, we empowered our customer to

      • Streamline data synchronization and structuring, reducing time spent on these tasks and enabling a sharper focus on strategic initiatives
      • Predict market trends, ensuring proactive decision-making based on historical data
      • Achieve greater sales efficiency thanks to data aggregation and visualization based on BI
      • Attract consumers and improve the overall customer experience with the help of user-friendly digital storefronts.
